$$$ Earn While You Learn

Young Detroit Builders is Currently Accepting New Applicants for the 2014 Winter Cycle

Young Detroit Builders is a GED preparation and job training program that helps young adults ages 18-24 work towards earning their GED and provides hands-on residential construction training. Training and academic support is FREE and students earn a small stipend ($8 a day) while participating in the program.

The program encourages participants to use what they learn to better the community in which they live and provides a hands-on approach to learning.

Young Detroit Builders is currently accepting new applicants for the 2014 Winter Cycle. The new cycle begins shortly after the first of the year.

Applicants must take a TABE test and score at a 6th grade level or higher in Math and English to be admitted into the program. YDB offers tutoring and academic support to help applicants who want to join the program but need assistance testing in at a 6th grade level.

TABE testing is held every Monday-Thursday at 10 am and at 1pm. The application process takes about 2 – 2 1/2 hours.
