Young Detroit Builders, CLEARCorps/Detroit and Bank of America Are Partnering to Weatherize 20 homes in Detroit’s North End Neighborhood in Celebration of #GivingTuesday

Detroit, MI - Young Detroit Builders is working in partnership with CLEARCorps/Detroit and Bank of America to weatherize 20 homes in Detroit’s North End Neighborhood on December 3rd. In celebration of #GivingTuesday, volunteers are uniting to help low-income families increase their home’s energy efficiency and reduce energy costs during the winter months. Volunteers will be installing window kits, door sweeps and pipe wrap to homes on Atkinson and Edison between 9 am and 2 pm.

Young Detroit Builders is a YouthBuild USA-affiliated, non-profit organization that has been offering a comprehensive program of GED exam preparation, academic support services, counseling, leadership development, life skills, on-the-job residential construction training and NCCER certification since 1996.

Founded in 1999, CLEARCorps/Detroit works to prevent lead poisoning and create Healthy Homes for children and families through programs, education and outreach, and policy work. CLEARCorps/Detroit is a member of the 501(c) (3) non-profit Southeastern Michigan Health Association.

Bank of America’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts focus on creating economically vibrant regions and communities through lending, investing and giving. The core areas of focus for its CSR efforts include responsible business practices; environmental sustainability; strengthening local communities with a focus on housing, hunger and jobs; investing in global leadership development; and engaging communities through arts and culture.

As part of these efforts, employee volunteers across the company contribute their time, passion and expertise to address issues in communities where they live and work.
